Desert Haven Church was founded in 1965 in Tempe, AZ. The church flourished, but due to permanent street closures, the church facility became landlocked. Another church offered to buy the property, and after prayer the leadership decided to sell the property and follow God's call to reach a new-to-be-built area for Christ.

The church purchased land in what was then the middle of the Sonoran Desert, 20 miles from the former facility. After holding services in schools for a few years, the DHC family moved into our current 11,000 sq foot facility on Ellsworth Road in East Mesa in 2001.  It has a 6,000 square foot multi-purpose room that is used for both worship and fellowship.  We also have five very large classrooms, 3 offices, a library/conference room and a large functional kitchen. We also have a skatepark which we store indoors when not in use. The final phase calls for our present facility to become a full gymnasium.

Desert Haven Church intentionally moved to a growing area in 2001, to reach a generation for Christ. We see ourselves becoming a resource center for our local neighbors and a comfortable place to seek theological truth.

We seek to continue to grow in our outreaches and ministries, and seek to step outside of ourselves and our comfort zones to serve others and introduce people to Jesus Christ. While we desire our church family to grow, of utmost importance is introducing people to the joy that only a life with Jesus Christ can bring.

We are looking towards the future, and we are convinced that God has plans for great things in the East Valley, and we believe God has placed our ministry here to reach people just like you.
